Kellogg's Breakfast Tomato is an heirloom, open-pollinated tomato variety that originated in West Virginia and was later given its name by a gardener in Michigan. It was given the name "breakfast tomato" due to the bright orange color of the delicious flesh and juice. The indeterminate plants are very productive throughout the warm-growing season.
Kellogg's Breakfast Tomato produces massive fruits that can easily average 1-2 lbs. The fruits are bright yellow to orange with a slightly-flattened shape that is characteristic of beefsteak, heirloom tomato varieties. The yellow to orange color makes this tomato less acidic than red varieties. It has a nice balance of sweetness with just a hint of acidity.
